Early Life & Background
Janhvi Kapoor was born on 6 March 1997 in Mumbai, Maharashtra, to legendary actress Sridevi and renowned film producer Boney Kapoor. She belongs to the illustrious Kapoor family, which has given Indian cinema some of its biggest stars. Her uncles Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor are also well-known actors.

Janhvi completed her schooling at Ecole Mondiale World School, Mumbai, and later pursued an acting course at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in California. Sadly, her mother Sridevi passed away in 2018, just before Janhvi’s film debut.

🎬 Career

Debut and Early Success (2018-2022)

Janhvi made her Bollywood debut in 2018 with Dhadak, opposite Ishaan Khatter. The film was commercially successful and established her as a promising newcomer.

In 2020, she appeared in Ghost Stories, followed by Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl, a biopic where she portrayed Indian Air Force pilot Gunjan Saxena. Her performance earned her critical acclaim and a Filmfare nomination.

Her subsequent films included Roohi (2021), a horror-comedy, Good Luck Jerry (2022), and Mili (2022), where she played a survival role that further displayed her acting range.

Recent Years (2023–Present)

In 2023, Janhvi starred in Bawaal alongside Varun Dhawan, which streamed on Prime Video. In 2024, she appeared in Mr. & Mrs. Mahi and Ulajh, though both underperformed at the box office.

She also made her Telugu debut with Devara: Part 1 in 2024, which became her highest-grossing film. In 2025, she featured in Homebound (premiered at Cannes) and Param Sundari. Upcoming projects include Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Peddi.
